Scott Gaiber

Deputy Chief of Investments

Since 2002, while serving in various roles as a teacher, school co-founder, professional developer, district administrator, consultant, and nonprofit leader, I have been dedicated to ensuring that our historically marginalized and underserved students are provided with phenomenal educators and transformative learning experiences that lead to fulfilling and impactful adulthoods.

Before joining the Elevate 215 team as the Deputy Chief of Investments, I ran my own consulting practice to support education organizations in how they manage, develop, and retain top talent. From 2016 to 2021, I was the Deputy Executive Director of the Philadelphia Academy of School Leaders, leading its flagship program, the Neubauer Fellowship in Educational Leadership, and oversaw the launch of two additional leadership development programs that collectively served 68 principals and 11 school system leaders in 2020-21 alone. Prior to joining School Leaders, I was the Director of Recruitment and Human Capital Support for the San Francisco Unified School District for five years. My proudest achievement there was opening the 2015 school year with every single classroom teacher vacancy in the city filled!

I began my career in education as a teacher in 2002 in San Jose, California and then went on to become the Founding 4/5 Grade Lead Teacher at Berkley Maynard Academy, an Aspire Public Charter School in Oakland, California.

An alumnus of Teach For America, the Education Pioneers Graduate School Fellowship, and the Urban School Human Capital Academy’s Emerging Human Capital Leaders Fellowship, I received my B.A from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s in Public Policy Analysis from the Goldman School of Public Policy at Berkeley. I am also a proud girl dad (two daughters) and first-time dog owner who loves cycling along and standup paddle boarding in the Schuylkill River.
