Letisha Laws

Senior Program Officer

I am thrilled to join the Elevate 215 team and bring my extensive experience and expertise in education leadership to the role of Senior Program Officer. Being born and raised in Philadelphia, I take great pride in being a product of the Philadelphia Public School System.

My educational journey began with my graduation from the Philadelphia High School for Girls, Class of 243. This experience laid the foundation for my academic pursuits, leading me to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University. Motivated by my passion for education, I continued my studies and obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Eastern University. Currently, I am pursuing Doctorate in Education at Drexel University, further solidifying my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Over the course of my career, which spans more than 20 years, I have held various significant roles in education. These include positions as a teacher, post-secondary coordinator, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and Regional Schools Officer. As a principal, I had the privilege of leading elementary, middle, and high schools, employing transformative leadership strategies that delivered impressive results. I am immensely proud of my positive impact on student achievement and the educational experiences of countless students.

Prior to joining Elevate 215, I served as a Regional Schools Officer and oversaw a diverse portfolio of elementary and secondary schools, serving over 4,000 students. In this role, I effectively managed resources, implemented strategic initiatives, and collaborated with stakeholders to ensure educational excellence across all schools under my purview. Additionally, I successfully transformed the adult culture within these schools and rebuilt strong leadership teams, fostering an environment conducive to growth and achievement.

Beyond my professional accomplishments, I am deeply committed to advocating for equity and inclusion in education. I firmly believe in creating environments that embrace diversity and honor every student’s unique strengths. My ultimate mission is to ensure that all children receive an excellent education and are prepared for success in our ever-changing world.

In my spare time, I enjoy immersing myself in Philadelphia’s vibrant arts and culture scene. I also cherish moments spent with my family and actively engage in community service initiatives that uplift the neighborhoods I hold dear.
