Elevate 215 and GreatPhillySchools Welcome Thousands of Families to the  2024 K-12 School Fair

Philadelphia’s Largest Education Event Features Record Attendance of Schools

PHILADELPHIA, PA (September 27, 2024) – Elevate 215 and GreatPhillySchools are excited to welcome thousands of Philadelphia families to the 2024 K-12 Philly School Fair, held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (corner of 12th and Arch Street) in downtown Philadelphia. The event spans two days: Friday, September 27, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This year’s fair boasts a record-breaking 220 participating schools from across the city.

“The K-12 Philly School Fair embodies Mayor Parker’s ‘One Philly’ vision and is an incredible opportunity for families to discover the diverse educational options available throughout Philadelphia. From kindergarten to high school, families can explore and learn about a wide range of schools, some of which they may not have known were available.”
Dr. Debora Carrera, Chief Education Officer, Mayor’s Office of Education

The fair will feature information booths for public district, public charter, private, and faith-based schools, staffed by knowledgeable representatives ready to answer questions from families and students. Attendees can explore the academics, extracurricular activities, and unique programs offered by each school. Enhancements to this year’s fair include:

  • GreatPhillySchools Ambassadors providing one-on-one support to help families navigate their school options;
  • A stage for high school student performances;
  • Engaging activities for children facilitated by after-school programs.
“Two-thirds of Philadelphia students attend a school outside of their assigned neighborhood, but navigating the various systems and application processes can be daunting for families. As an extension of the resources on GreatPhillySchools.org, the K-12 School Fair offers families personalized guidance to help them explore and apply to the best school options for their children.”
Dr. Stacy Holland, Executive Director of Elevate 215

Students will also be able to utilize the fair’s “Application Center,” with devices available to apply on-site to schools using their respective application systems. Here is important information for families about application deadlines:

“We are thrilled that in Philadelphia, students have the opportunity to find programs that align with their interests and future aspirations. What sets our District apart is the variety of programming available, ensuring there is a pathway to support each and every student’s academic goal. This weekend’s fair provides a unique chance for families to connect directly with schools and explore these opportunities.”
Dr. Tony B. Watlington, Sr.

The K-12 Philly School Fair is sponsored by The School District of Philadelphia, PECO, Comcast, Wawa, The Connelly Foundation, Skyrocket Education, Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia, and Elevate 215. The event is open to the public, and while attendance is free, registration is highly encouraged.
