Philadelphia, PA – The Philadelphia Citywide Talent Coalition announces the launch of TeachPHL.org and an outreach campaign aimed at recruiting talented individuals to pursue a teaching career and welcoming certified teachers to seek opportunities in Philadelphia. This launch is part of the Coalition’s multi-faceted strategy to increase the diversity and effectiveness of Philadelphia’s district and charter school teacher workforce.
The teacher hub and outreach campaign was funded by a $250,000 Industry Partnership Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, which was secured by Philadelphia Works in partnership with Elevate 215 and the Citywide Talent Coalition.
The Teacher Hub features:
1
Teacher Pathway Navigation
A step-by-step online guide that describes the programs available to anybody trying to become a certified teacher in Philadelphia, whether they are new to the profession or already a teacher.
2
Employer Profiles
Each public school system has its own profile page with a link to where prospective teacher candidates can apply to each school or school system.
3
Citywide Event Calendar
Any employer or teacher preparation program will be able to have its recruitment events posted on the calendar.
The outreach campaign aims to reach different audiences of talented individuals, including:
Career changers (people who are currently in other professions but may decide to pursue paths to become a teacher);
New college graduates who did not major in teaching; and,
Teachers outside of Philadelphia.
The digital ad buy is utilizing still ads (see the image here) and video ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and geo-targeting people who are located near 19 local college and university campuses.
